What We Believe
A brief summary of some of our fundamental beliefs
Scripture
The Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, is the infallible word of God. It is the unique and supreme guide for faith, belief, and godly living. It contains all that is needed to understand our Creator’s purpose. Through this Word we find the truth of the Word, Jesus Christ, our Savior.
God
There is one God who exists above all creation. He exists eternally in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are distinctive in presence and in total harmony.
Jesus
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, is the revelation of God, our redeemer and deliverer. He lived a perfect life, suffered and died on the cross, was raised from the dead, and lives right now in relationship with us.
Holy Spirit
All who are saved are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. The Spirit is our seal and guarantee, bearing fruit through us and constantly pointing us to Jesus Christ. He indwells the believer, teaching, comforting and guarding them until the return of Christ.
Salvation
Salvation from sin and relationship with God is available only through the work of Christ on the cross, given by God’s grace, mercy, and love. It is received solely by our faith in Jesus Christ. We are not saved by our good works but by trust in the one whose works are truly good. The cross is sufficient to cover the sins of all who believe.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.
